About us
e-CAMP MENTORing (e-CAMP) is a Canadian, federally-incorporated not-for-profit organization dedicated to youth development and empowerment. Our mission is mentoring, training and coaching Black youth for success with a focus on Equity, Justice and Career Readiness. The organization was founded in 2013 by Dr. Leroy Clarke, an educator and community advocate, whose doctoral research illustrated compromised confidence and low employment opportunities faced by Black, Indigenous and other racialized youth. e-CAMP connects Black/African-Canadian mentors and youth, through in-person and online programs. Our goal is to engage Black youth and support them to be successful, while facilitating conversations about, and deconstructing, systemic barriers. Intergenerational conversations play an important role in the e-CAMP 5-Step Mentoring Strategy: Know Who You Are; Know Where You Are Going; Know That You Can Succeed; Know Where to Get Help and; Know When to Celebrate and Give Back.
