York University Department of English, within the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) recognized a number of students with awards for their exceptional contributions to the field of creative writing. Sonia Clarke was the 2023 First Year winner for her outstanding piece, “Against All Odds”. In 2024, she was also the Lorna Marsden Prize for Creative Writing in French. Sonia continues to write, has a passion for poetry and encourages others to use the pen to express their thoughts and feelings.
